Stephen Christiansen is a freelance Art Director & Designer in the entertainment industry. He is known for his work on such projects as: The Avatar Sequels, Tenet, The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Kong: Skull Island, Tomorrowland, Doctor Strange, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Saving Mr. Banks & the Star Trek Franchise. Other clients include Apple, The Olympics, & Walt Disney Imagineering. He has been privileged to work with some of the best artists, producers & directors in the industry including: JJ Abrams, Brad Bird, James Cameron, The Coen Brothers, Christopher Nolan & Steven Spielberg.
Stephen’s interest in art & storytelling begin at an early age. He filled sketchbook after sketchbook with doodles, created imaginative worlds with LEGO & led siblings & friends on role-playing adventures. Growing up, he won many award for his painting, sculpture & design projects. His love for movies begin in high school while working at a corner neighborhood video store. Stephen created his own college degree & graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors of Universal Studies with an emphasis in Entertainment Design.
As a storyteller, his job is too bring to life worlds of imagination & fill them with characters who’s stories help us to explain our collective & individual life experiences. Stephen believes that media has the ability to be a powerful influence. Because of this influence, he has the responsibility to be an agent of change & to inspire others to grow & make a difference in the world.
Stephen grew up in the western United States & in South America. He currently lives in Southern California with his wife, 3 children & a pack of bulldogs. He & his wife have had the privilege to foster children in need.
